"Mom, How you do that?" Our conversation began with my four-year-old's right hand clamped tightly over his nose.
"Do what, Buddy?"
"You tsanzse Pencoh's bum wif yo nose open!?!"
"Um, I'm a mom. I just can."
"Wow! Mom's have hawd bogies so the stink can't go in? Like supoh bogies?"
"Yeah, I guess so."
'That so coo-oh!"
I finished up, and then washed and lotioned my hands. (Oh, Arizona, you try to suck the moisture out of me faster than I can keep it in!)
"Mom? My bogies are soft so that smell can go in. I wike it. Yo loh-ssun smews good. You smew good, and I love you."
**We do pronounce booger as bogie at our house. Just like with our use of the word bum, I'm trying to sneak tiny bits of England into my life however possible, cuz, kinda I love that place. Too bad it's too late to convince the monkeys to call me Mum.
AND the token side note:
Sockie has helped me (yet again) qualify for the Mom-Of-The-Year award.
I tickled him. But he squirmed and wiggled and bashed his face into the hard part of my chair.
In fact he bashed his top front tooth, and now it's turning gray. I killed his tooth!
I am a murder of teeth! I hang my head in shame.

Camping?
My husband is brilliant. (no really, though!)
But he had an idea that I only wish I could claim as my own. (and how tempting is that when I am the one posting this blog?!) BUT he decided that we should have a camping experience. SO we told the kids we had something fun planned, but they had to help us get ready.
First, we cleaned the whole house:

Zoo-per!
Oh, what do you do when it is SPRING BREAK and all the kids are at home?
We decided to go to the zoo.
In full disclosure: this was my first visit to the Zoo in this part of the world. I had been a member of the Zoo society and a frequent Zoo visitor in Wisconsin, but I had not made the effort to zoo-bilize here. Finally going both reminded me how nice it is to have a place to 'get out' to AND how much I miss going to the Wisconsin zoo.
That being said, we had a fabulous time.

Not intended for children under the age of 3
Just in case you thought my littlest monkey was beginning to grow out of his crazy antics, I submit the evidence from today:
What you see here is a small disc. It is donut shaped, with the hole in an octagonal shape. It came with our Toy-Story play set. (It can be shot out of a small disc launcher) It also makes a fancy ring.

Luck o' the Irish
We had a fun filled St. Patty's day this year. It started with a green breakfast.

Hail to the Chief
Hail to the Chief, he's the chief and he needs hailing....
The doctor is now known at our house as The Chief. (at least until the newness of his position rubs off a little.) He will be one of the two third-year EM residents who are 'management' in their program. They are basically in charge of liaising between the other specialties, the actual hospital management, etc. and the residents they work with. (as I understand it)
It is recognition of their trust in him. It is evidence of the hard work he does and the good egg that he is. I'm proud of him. Be impressed.

Moldy oldies
| Grapes in Kindergarten and Socks at age 2 |
These are a few random gems from days gone by. (Posted on facebook before I understood what blogging really was... because now I'm a expert...) So, yeah.
I decided to preserve them for my own memory's sake, and if you want to read them too, that's cool with me.

More from the Mommy Files
Meet Mr. Ladies' Man
After church he was running around outside with some of the girls in his class. When we called him, he paused, and these immortal words leaped from his lips: "Sorry, ladies, I gotta go!"

Worth some words
I do not have lots of words today. Life is pressing forward in the ordinary way of things. The Doctor working, school for kids and errands for mom, and I am enjoying it. I am catching and holding the sweet moments that are the nothings and the everythings all in one.
It is a sense of gratitude and awe that
this is what my days are full of:
| Trips to the park. Arizona February.... Ah, yes. |
