Back to Real Life

Today is Monday. Real life begins on Monday.Today our real life began with this:
This is my husband's expensive Smart phone. In battle with our tile floor, this brilliant phone was defeated.
He's at the Verizon store now, learning our fate.

A Pro with PRO...

...crastinating.
I am headed on a road trip in T-minus 3 days. THREE days.
I should be sparkling my already spotless house and packing beautifully our coordinating luggage (so much nicer than just suitcases!) I should be baking delish and healthy treats for us to munch peacefully while we drive the blissful two day drive to see our family.

Or.

I could be posting on the blog. After having made a run to Target to get batteries for my camera.
And working on writing a novel, because that is obviously more pressing than the trip stuff.
And admiring my new trees (while ignoring the weeds growing near them)
And debating pulling out an old pattern and sewing myself a skirt.

When the camera has no batteries

I have not taken any pictures for a while now.
I feel funny posting on the blog with no pictures, and so I haven't posted.
So, I went to Target today, to get batteries. I got new socks for Sock (ha ha) and a new shirt on clearance for Grapes. I got paper towels and fruit snacks, and pesto sauce for our pizza tonight. (Mmmm... chicken pesto pizza. You know you want some!)
I did not get batteries for my camera.
Thus, there is no photo of Grape's old new hair-cut.
Or of my sick, cute husband. (a cold, in August?! sad day!)
Or of pencil's crayon artistry ALL OVER my house. (this kid can conjure crayons from thin air!!)
Or of the old new trees in our back yard. They are green and leafy, and about 6 feet tall. (well, one is more like 4 feet tall, but it's leafier, so it counts as more....)
Or of our trampoline hanging on by one spring on the left side. Dangerous jumping, people!!!
Or of Sockie on his first day of preschool. (he LOVES it and doesn't want to come home when he's done.) although.... today when I asked him to get in the car so we could go to preschool for day 2 he said, "WHAT?? AGAIN!?!"

I also have a thought to share. In this world of convenience, I have found some things can truly backfire in the convenience department.  Like on-line bill pay through your bank.... if you have to unexpectedly change all your bank accounts due to identity fraud. Can I tell you that paying late fees because of no fault of your own is a bit irking.
Also cleaning up the wrappers of all those individually wrapped snacks that my kids so love. That is not convenient.
