The not really so Windy City

Prologue (because this will be a novel, Friends)
Whitney is not adventurous. That should be noted from the start. She would gladly sit at home with a good book any day of the week, and if she were to venture out it would decidedly be to places known and events planned.

The Doctor... not so much.

This trip to Chicago was on the unexpected side for me, and I did not have time to mentally prepare before my mother-in-law was in my house and I was headed to an airport. (BLESS the woman who took beautiful care of my rowdy monkeys while we were away) But away we went! And I rode on an airplane with my sweetheart and remembered a time when we sat on a plane and decided we could get married. I'm so glad we did.

When we landed in Illinois, I asked my husband what our plan for getting to the hotel was.
He asked me if I was up for an adventure. I can't say I loved that answer,
but I shrugged and said I was just along for the ride. (It was a conference trip for his work, after all)
That ride was on the "L" train from O'Hare to Downtown Chicago.

A baby in the house

No- This is not an announcement.

Our Beloved MayMay and her Husby and Baby-kins came to visit us this weekend. It was a delight to see their faces and hold this chubby-lovey-ness. I wish they could have stayed longer. (Boo to real life, folks!)

My kids were ga-ga over this new little person who represents novel and unsung levels of cool by being simultaneously a COUSIN (we don't have any other of those) and a BABY which is cool considering the last one we had was like, two whole years ago. It was also a hoot to have the adult visitors here too. The fighting over who got to sit by or ride with them was enough to make me want to ban visitors.... or my kids..... Just kidding.

Keepin' the birds ANGRY

We like the game Angry Birds.
You'd think I would have been done showing you that after this post, or this one

AND  I posted recently about Pencil's "Buh-Caw" noise. As if that silly story and video were not enough evidence of our fan-dom, please enjoy these videos of our family time spent playing the live-action version. (PS-- thanks to the Gish family for this AWESOME Christmas gift! It has been well loved!)

*We note that not all folks care for this most addictive and annoying of games. We recognize the faults there-of and lovingly play anyway. We note also that no kids were harmed in the making of these videos, but I think one of the little pigs got lost. We still have his hard hat though- perhaps in memoriam. ...Or something.
