I hope my blood thickens up soon! The weather is cold here, and I am not handling it well. Constant socks and hoodies, and I still find myself wrapped in a blanket and finding excuses not to move. The thermostat is set at 72, but I think it is a conspiracy.
Since last we met, our oldest monkey was recognized at school for being respectful. It is a monthly 'character' /citizenship award, voted by the students. Her teacher called me to invite us to attend, and he said he fully agrees with the classes choice. SO proud of her!
She is doing very well in this new place. She has great friends, and is enjoying school and the 'extended learning' class she get to go to. She is being her usual, enthusiastic, smarty self. I think we'll keep her.

Post Halloween blues
Subtle, no?
This is my monkeys, camped out in the kitchen, staring longingly at the Halloween candy. It is a dwindling amount, with only weird gum and strange, generic 'flavored' tootsie rolls left, but they don't seem to care.
We're getting over sick kids here. Hacking cough, slight fever, CRANKY kids. The usual.
Pencil was very upset when I suggested some medicine to help him feel better.
Until, he tasted it. He hugged me tight and exclaimed, "It tastes like owange! Mom, you a geniuths!"Wednesday, June 20, 2012
Lazy Summer Days
The hot summer days slip-slide past each other, like wet wiggly monkeys in a wading pool.
We have been busy and lazy at the same time, if that is really possible, and I have had so little to report while feeling so very occupied with the day-to-day.
In the last 7 days we have:
*Taken the van (Beloved Fred) in for an Oil change and discovered that the sway bar on the driver's side had snapped in-two. After a whole day of courtesy shuttles, babysitters, and waiting, our quick oil change resulted in a Fred that is more road ready and decidedly more expensive than the $24.99 I expected to spend.
