The headaches (literally) and paperwork and waiting and waiting were worth it. After what felt like ages, we are no longer living in my in-law's basement (that sounds like it was torture, but it was NOT) or some tiny cabin in the woods (which was most definitely torture after two full weeks). We are in a giant, beautiful, too-good-to-be-true HOUSE! And look at that yard. We have grass!
So much has happened in the days since I last wrote. Playing catch-up is daunting and I hope you bear with me for the abbreviated version. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask.
While in Utah we were able to hang out with Grammy and my side of the family. Love these people!
My cousins and kids
The Doctor's family trip to Sun Valley was a delight as well. This trip deserves a post all its own, but suffice it to say we had many lovely moments and created sweet memories. Already all three of my children and their father have wished to go back. It was barely a month ago!
The creek that ran just outside our condo was one of the highest high-lights for the littles of the company. These pictures are actually from day one, probably hour two... they wasted little time getting down and dirty in a place made for professional relaxation. (I won't say rest, because with these monkeys we were busy all day long!)
But such a joy!
After Sun Valley we road-tripped back to the great state of Arizona. (I say great because there is delightful weather and no day-light savings here. Really, though, shouldn't everyone live here?)
We lingered at a cabin/hotel room while we waited for escrow to close on our house.
The big kids started school:
Fourth Grade!
First Grade!
And the rest of us went slightly stark-raving MAD in the tiny space...waiting.
We are well. The Doctor is working. Real work- real hours and real patients and real pay. It is still a lot to take in and while it is going well, it will still take some time for us to get used to. We love that he is home more often, and that his drive to and from work is shorter than before.
The kids are thriving at school. New friends and new things to learn.
Pencil and I are rattling around in this giant house. Deciding where to put our dishes in all these cupboards and sweeping large amounts of floors. I'm also trying not to be overly intimidated by the yard and garden that are suddenly ours. We, too, are slowly making friends and feeling at home.
Don't worry, the blog hasn't been forgotten. We're here, still Whiting on the Blog.
Stay tuned.
Yay for the update :) This means you have internet now, right? Whew! Love the house and I cannot wait to see it in person someday.
ReplyDeleteLook at that porch! Congratulations on the yard, the space, and that wonderful looking house!
