Meet the Monkey

Love how this one looks like a selfie?

One of the very funnest things about this little monkey turning one is that her personality is just exploding out of her. She is rapidly blossoming into this tiny goofball and I find myself frequently laughing my guts out over her expressions or actions.

She thinks the phone is hers.
She often lets me know when she wants it back.

 A few weeks ago,
before she had started really talking at all, I tried to teach her her a few baby signs, so she could communicate with us. She was not impressed with signs, and did not really use them. Right after that, she started saying words.
So last week she was eating cheerios with me, and she wanted more. "mo! MO!" so I looked at her and said, "Feta, can you say please?" She looked right at me, then reached over and patted my chest. (the baby sign for 'please' is to rub/pat your own chest)
She'd seen me rub my chest a million times.
She knew the sign all the long- she was just above using it!

She likes to wear a 'pretty' on her wrist/arm.

She talks now-- she says mama and dada, mo (more) and bwee (blankie)
She points when she wants something, and usually grunts to get it.

She likes to rough-house with her brothers.

She refuses to eat baby-food.

She won't keep bows or clips in her hair.
She thinks she is hilarious.

She's always walking around, getting into something.
